Martyrdom of the Bab commemoration
July 10, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
In Persia in 1844, a Messenger entitled the Bab announced His mission to herald the imminent arrival of the long-awaited Promised One, the Messenger of God Who would usher in the age of universal peace and transform the world. That Messenger was Baha’u’llah, Who in 1863 announced that He was God’s Messenger for this age. The Bab was martyred in a square in Tabriz.
On July 10, members of the Las Cruces Baha’i community will commemorate the anniversary of the Martyrdom of the Bab. The Bab is an Arabic title meaning “the gate”. This is one of nine holy days on which members of the Baha’i Faith suspend work and school.
You can read about the life of the Bab and Baha’u’llah here.
This solemn event will be commemorated at 1:00 on July 10 at the Baha’i Information Center. For more information, please call 575-528-8912
