Fortieth Anniversary Commemoration event
August 22, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Please join us for a commemoration of the fortieth anniversary of the execution of ten Baha’i women in Shiraz, Iran on June 18th, 1983.
The women ranged in age from 17 to 57 and were executed because they would not recant their belief in the Baha’u’llah or reject the Baha’i Faith.
The event is being observed on International Day Commemorating the Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief.
This event is also a contribution to the Baha’i International Community’s year-long campaign honoring these ten women and standing with those who struggle for equality, justice, and freedom of belief in Iran today. The campaign is titled #OurStoryIsOne and you can read more about the women and experience the artistic contributions in their honor on the BIC website or Instagram accounts.
Everyone is welcome. Please join us.
