Baha’is of Las Cruces donate nearly 40 cases of water to LCPD programs

Community snapshot: The Baha’is of Las Cruces, with community support, recently donated nearly 40 cases of water to the Victim’s Assistance Unit and the Police Officer’s Association of the Las Cruces Police Department. The water will be distributed by members of the Victim’s Assistance Unit and the Police Officer’s Association to those who might find themselves in distress. Community snapshot: The Baha’i community of Las Cruces elected its nine-member governing council, known as the Local Spiritual Assembly, for 2018-2019. Pictured are members seated from left to right: Jean Wilkey, Dean Wilkey, treasurer, and Muriel Gribble. Standing from left to right, are: Carl Ewing, chairman, Phyllis Williams, Darrell Rodgers, vice chairman, Deborah Rodgers, Annie Mitchell, secretary, and Gordon Butler. Local assemblies minister to the needs of the community, including organizing classes for the spiritual education of children and adults. They support community members in planning devotional programs and other public events.
